Rats are clearly larger and are more commonly found outdoors, around foundations and waste areas. Mice, on the other hand, more often enter indoor spaces, especially when temperatures drop in autumn. In apartment buildings, pipe penetrations and small gaps in storage rooms are typical entry points, while in detached houses the risk areas are usually around the foundation and structural joints.

One visible rodent rarely means there is only one. Rodents follow established routes, and if the access point remains open, the problem often returns.
